Sign-up deadline has passed.  You may still be able to reserve a spot by going directly to Diana’s website.

This virtual seminar is sponsored by The Generic Knitters of Broomfield, Colorado. Their MK guild members knit on many different makes of knitting machines – hence, the club is named “Generic.”

This seminar has a multi-machine theme, too. It is also as close to a regular, in-person club seminar as Diana can make it, with demonstrations chosen by the Generic Knitters members.

The classes are virtual over Facebook Live Video. You can watch the classes live, or watch them later! The videos will be available for several weeks after the seminar is over. The Facebook group will also be a vehicle for social interaction, posting and admiring project photos, and posting the handouts.

All classes are available to watch live, or later, or again, until the Facebook pages are taken down.

The curriculum includes:

Garter Bar Class
Attend Diana’s classic, most popular and most heavily-attended garter bar class!  See how many different useful things you can do with your garter bar.

Color Day
Let’s play with colors! Our machines do such wonderful patterning. Here is an overview of Intarsia, Mosaic, Fair Isle Isolation, Vertical Floatless Fair Isle, dealing with floats in Fair Isle, and creating a color scheme.

Lace Lovers
Bargello Lace, Short Rowing Lace, Enchanted Edgings (automatic scalloped edgings), Ziggy Lace, and Bias Lace. Note: this class focuses on Brother standard gauge machines.

Ribber Day
Ribber Basics & Tips, Slipped Double Jacquard, Reversible Double Jacquard, and Combining Rib & Tuck.

In addition to the live classes, you will receive:

  • Membership in the private Facebook group, Generic Knitters Seminar 2021, from your registration date until May 31. You can make new MK friends, reconnect with others, and share your progress, projects, and machine knitting tips, challenges and ideas. We will have a swap-and-shop feature for members, a place where you can hunt down items you need or find new homes for your machines and accessories.
  • Two Zoom Socials focused on Show and Tell. Please participate and show us your versions of the patterns!
  • Free Patterns that coordinate with the classes being taught.
  • The ability to watch the live sessions again, or watch later, if you miss a class (materials available through May 31).  All the sessions are recorded and available in the Facebook group!
  • Diana’s usual detailed seminar handouts (with all the written patterns) in .pdf format.

Do you want a USB flash drive with all the recorded sessions? Diana’s customers love these – they have all the sessions on video (glitches, mistakes and everything) and all the handouts. These will be mailed after the seminar is over and the video is finally copied and ready. For members only, she offers a special pre-order package price for seminar + flash drive that gives the lowest flash drive cost. After the seminar is all over and the member orders are filled, USB flash drives of the seminar will become available at $80.
